Categories

There are no age requirements for practical shooting. So in theory, even toddlers can participate in the competition. But it would not be fair for a 30-year-old man with 8 years of practice to compete with a 9-year-old boy who has just started shooting. Therefore, in practical shooting, such a concept as Categories was introduced. There are 6 categories in total, such as Super-Junior, Junior, Senior, Super-Senior, Lady and Regular.

Super-Junior and Junior

According to the author's observation, new young athletes have been coming to practical shooting more and more often lately. This indicates the development of the sport and its success. Unfortunately, experience has shown that even if a teenager wants to take up this sport, he or she cannot do so without the support of a parent. The Super-Juniors category includes children under 16 and Juniors under 21.

Super-Senior and Senior

Super-Seniors are people over 60 years old, and Seniors are over 50. Seniors are mostly people who can no longer compete in the Regular category. In general, our sport can be seen as a hobby, so some people perceive this sport as a hobby as they get older.

Senior

Lady

IPSC is generally a men's sport, but there are a lot of talented ladies who want to play this sport, so of course there is a Ladies category. Just like with the Juniors, more and more women have been seen on the range lately.

Regular

Absolutely all participants of the competition fall under the Regular category, so this is the hardest category of all. For example, a 56-year-old man won the Seniors category, but he can still win a prize in the Regular category. So men aged 21 to 50 have to compete with everyone.
